Welcome to this crazy little blog!

In the attempt to begin home-schooling my eldest child I learned.... that I need to learn a lot more about doing this!  Though I was schooled at home for part of my childhood (thought I knew a thing or two about doing it) and my husband was schooled at home his entire childhood - we have found ourselves at times not knowing where to start, needing to come up with creative solutions to problems, sensing that there is an urgent need to school our children in some ways the same but in many ways differently - to take some different approaches to "homeschooling" - or maybe it's, rather, to take an older approach, a more classical approach to learning and a much more concentrated focus on our God and Christian Faith, on relationships with our children and each other and as a family.  I've created this blog to not only keep track of where we've come from and what direction/vision we have for where we are "going" but also to encourage others in the same boat - who don't feel like they "have it all together" - because trust me - we don't.  We are still new to this, we are still learning how to teach our children.  My goal is to share ideas, things that have worked well for our children and maybe we'll get some feedback from others willing to share their ideas and things that have inspired them and worked well for their children and family.  May God bless as you, too, undertake the great privilege to raise your little lambs at home and teach them to become strong lions.
